Current Makeup Faves

It wasn't until college that I actually picked up my first liquid eyeliner and mineral foundation and began to experiment with the basics, from finding the right tones for my face to drawing a sharp cat eye look on my lids. I find it fascinating when I watch makeup tutorials online because it really has become an art, your face has essentially become a canvas where you can create so many different, versatile looks.

Furthermore, I would like to point out that I HATE, HATE IT when people say that "makeup is so superficial, like you're painting your face, I prefer natural beauty,  it's so much better and blah blah blah," Shut the hell up already!!!!!!!

Not all of us were born naturally beautiful and makeup helps to enhance our best features while hiding our flaws. It doesn't make one superficial when they are using makeup as a confidence booster, and I can bet you the people that are "naturally beautiful" actually do have a skin care regime to maintain their healthy skin.

That said, these are my current must-haves that you'd find in my make-up bag. All purchased by my hubby lol. Thank you baby!

First up is Revlon Color Stay Foundation.....Love, LOVE this stuff, I usually have a hard time finding foundations that last long, and I've found this stuff lasts all day, even after a hard workout at Jazzercise. Application is smooth, and gives you that flawless, airbrushed look. It's pricey but it lasts forever. I bought it a couple months ago and it's still full. I've yet to see any air bubbles.

Second, is the L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner. I was a big liquid eyeliner fan for a while, but since I wear contacts I find it's messy if not applied carefully, and the liquid tends to run into my eyes, so I have patches of dark liquid that gets stuck in my lenses (I know, gross). I found this stuff to be amazing. It does come with an eyeliner brush but I use my own brush because the one it came with was a little too stiff and harsh on my eyes. Definitely recommend this for someone who's new to makeup, it's easy to apply and lasts more than half a year. Again, it's pricey but you do get your money's worth, and it's a lot cheaper than the shit sold at Sephora lol. Best brand for someone on a drugstore budget.

Mascara. Must-have numero 3, it's called Rimmel Glam Eyes. This one's not really my favorite but it did come with a free eyeliner pencil lol. I do have short lashes though, so maybe that's why it didn't really work for me. It's good for everyday wear though.

Other than those three products listed, I do have a few tubes of Maybelline lipstick, but I normally just wear chapstick. I don't really go anywhere except the grocery store and occasional date nights with the hubby, so I'm not into anything too dramatic as of now.
