I'll just say I don't like Valentine's Day for reasons that it's so commercialized, and now that I finally have a significant other to spend it with, I feel more obligated to get him something because if I don't.....well that would just make me an ungrateful bitch right? Lol.
But no, seriously, I love my husband David, not just on Valentine's day, and I try to show him how much I care every single day. I love him so much.
This year I told him we'd keep it simple. He wanted to go out and buy me one of those huge stuffed teddy bears he saw at the BX. I was like, "WTF? Baby I already have enough stuffed toys sitting in the guest bedroom, if anything, it will end up being Red's $40 hump buddy.....dinner would be nice instead."
I did buy David a couple small things though. Hypocrite much? You won't be saying it when I show you what it is. It's freaking adorable.
Will post on Hearts Day. ;)

How to Transfer Music from iPod to Computer?
Posted by
Isabelle
For all the dumb asses out there (like me) who didn't think to make a backup disk of all the songs and pictures on their iPods and upgraded to a new laptop, there is a way to transfer your crap without losing it all and having to start over again.
AND it's a legit website that's FREE. I'm writing this entry just to keep it for future reference, as well as spare you the hassle of using Google to sift through website after website charging you to pay to use their programs lol.
So simple. Getsharepod.com
There's the site, that's all you need. No fees, just download and follow instructions.

My Honest Review on Bare Minerals
Posted by
Isabelle
Yikes, it's been a while. So I just got back after a loooooong month vacation with my family in Colorado. I have to say, it was very much needed, and even though I do miss everyone already, it's nice to be back in the land of potatoes once again with the hubby and my 90 lb skittish yellow lab.
While I was away for the holidays I did get to do a lot of shopping, which is always a plus. I used some of the Christmas shopping money from my mom and purchased the Bare Minerals Starter Kit. I've been wanting to try Bare Minerals for the longest time, and after seeing the commercials for a couple years I finally caved in and bought the damn set lol.
The kit cost me $65 (tax included) and it comes with a small bottle of Skin Rev-er Upper primer, three labeled brushes: concealer brush, flawless application face brush, and a full flawless face brush (one is just bigger than the other). Also included is bronzer, mineral veil, and a foundation of your choice. I had help from the sales lady at Sephora in picking the right one for my skin tone, and apparently I am Golden Tan. Wooooo.
Here's what I like, here's what I don't like about it.
Pros: It blends nicely when you apply it correctly using the "swirl, tap, and blend technique" that they show on the instructional DVD, and it creates that flawless look that everyone seems to go on and on about. I do like the mineral veil as well, it sets my makeup and keeps my face from looking oily.
Cons: My biggest complaint was that it irritated my skin, especially whenever I would sweat. I'm not sure if it was the brushes or the primer that caused it, but for the first few days that I used Bare Minerals I couldn't wear it for more than a few hours before I had to wash it off my face. However, after washing my brushes, my face feels fine now after applying. I still am not sure whether it was the brushes or my skin's initial reaction to the primer, I guess I will never know for sure lol.
Anyways, to answer the question that everyone asks: Does Bare Minerals really work?
In my honest opinion, it's not worth 65 bucks. While I do use it everyday, I wouldn't run out and buy it again. It doesn't give me enough coverage. I still have to put on concealer and my liquid foundation UNDER the bare minerals foundation to get the full coverage that I want.
And I don't even have terrible skin. Every once in a while I get the occasional pimple, but this stuff doesn't even cover up the small red areas near my nose or my chin.
Looks like I will be sticking to liquid foundations. Mineral foundation by itself just doesn't do it for me.

Katy Perry - Thinking of You Video Review
Posted by
Isabelle
I was never really a huge Katy Perry fan, but this video makes me cry every time I watch it. Along with its beautiful footage and the 1950s vintage outfits, I love this video mainly because it appeals to a lot of military wives out there and conveys what they go through when they have to let the love of their life go off to war. There's a gorgeous shot of a reminiscent Katy staring out the window as she plays back memories of her and her deceased lover biking to a lake, lying on a blanket in a field, sharing their last dance, the last goodbye kiss, and finally him walking away from her as she stands alone, watching him leave. He turns to look back at her for the last time. That part breaks my heart every time and the tears come pouring.
Everything in that four minute movie is comparable to reality, and putting myself in her shoes, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. You get that one love you can't live without, and then when they're gone, it's unbearable.

How Do You Deal During Husband's Deployment?
Posted by
Isabelle
I get depressed and worried when I think about it. The day that I dread the most is the day when David calls and tells me he's been issued deployment orders. And I sit there and blink and try to swallow the lump that's forming in my throat.
If you think it's hard being away from the one that you love for a day, try six months.
Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to deal with it. As far as my support system goes, my family's out of state, and I can't go running back to them every time he has to leave. I have to stay put where I am now, put on my big girl panties and learn how to be on my own. Even though there are support groups and other military wives on base to help me, at the end of the day, I'm still going to bed alone every night, thinking, and praying that my love is doing alright on the other side of the world.
Since it's our first deployment, I'll go easy on myself and give it a few weeks before I decide whether or not to run back to mommy and daddy lol.

Your Wife Called, She Wants to Be Pampered at Ageless Beauty Salon

I went to a spa for the first time ever in my life yesterday, and it was an amaaaazing experience. The woman I had for the day took me to get my eyebrows waxed first (which I wasn't too impressed, I find the Asian salon in San Diego does it better, my eyebrows weren't as symmetrical and looked sloppy lol) but then she led me through the hallway and into a dimly lit, cozy small room with a padded table with floral thermal heated blankets on top. She told me to strip and slide in between the sheets on my stomach, placing my face onto the hole in the massage table.
It was awkward at first, laying there and staring at the floor, only in my underwear. I felt really nervous, not knowing what to expect, if she was going to karate chop my bones and rip me from limb to limb, but then I no longer felt apprehensive as she switched on a nature soundtrack, which consisted of dolphin noises and the ocean waves to add to the calm ambiance of the room. VERY, very relaxing. I found myself drooling onto the floor as I was staring at her toenails while she rubbed my back, legs, and arms with vanilla scented lotion.
The massage lasted for about an hour. Afterward, I slipped into a white fleece robe and followed her to an elevated leather massage chair with a footstool and a large basin of warm water steaming and bubbling underneath. I was presented with a variety of different colored toe nail polishes, to which I decided on a nice pink iridescent one, as the glitter ones were a little too loud for my toenails. She scraped my nasty ass heels of their roughness, slathered on a foot mask as I played with the dials on the remote controlled massage chair.
When she was done soaking my feet, drying and painting them to perfection, I headed to the last room for my hydrafacial. Basically they used a suction tube to get all the oils and dirt out of my face, which is supposed to help towards evening my skin tone and making it feel smoother, healthier, and rejuvenated.
And that was it!
I felt soooooooo refreshed afterward, I didn't even feel the need to wear makeup for the rest of the day, my skin was glowing.
Thank you baby for winning this treatment for me, it was very much appreciated, one of the best Christmas presents I've received. <3

Jazzercise is the Best!!
Posted by
Isabelle
I really love this class! I think it's so much better than Zumba, and I never get bored because the instructor changes up the routines and songs every week. Plus, they have some cute workout clothes. I've been looking on the jazzercise.com website and found a back tie cami I really like. I will probably order it once I get some extra money.
This week we're focusing on more back and shoulder workouts. Again, I was still drenched in sweat during the weights section, so Jazzercise is still kicking my ass, but I feel my body becoming more toned. Will post a picture in a couple of weeks.
